Treatment for lung cancer depends on the type of tumor and the stage of the disease, but generally includes surgery to remove the cancerous tissue, augmented with radiation or chemotherapy, if the tumor is located in an operable area. If not, radiation and chemotherapy will be used alone or in combination with one another.
